Ryuji is my all-time favorite character from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise. He is badass and super hot so I felt like dedicating a whole damn webpage to him because I don’t really see that much Ryuji content outside of twitter and (sometimes) tumblr. Who is Ryuji???
(Spoilers for Yakuza 2/Kiwami 2!)
Ryuji Goda (郷田 龍司, Gōda Ryūji) is a character from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. He is introduced in the Yakuza 2/Kiwami 2 game as the main antagonist. Ryuji is also featured in other Yakuza games such as Y0, Yakuza Dead Souls (DS is underrated af), and Ryu Ga Gotoku Online.
Ryuji is the adopted son of the fifth chairman of the Omi Alliance Jin Goda. Not much is really known about his birth parents other than his birth father being the boss of the Jingweon Mafia who was killed by Shintaro Kazama during the Kamurocho Christmas Massacre in the 1980s. His birth mother, Suyeon Jung is saved by a detective named Jiro Kawara. Suyeon later meets Jin Goda who eventually adopts her son- Ryuji.
Once he was old enough, Ryuji joins his father’s yakuza group, the Go-Ryu Clan- becoming the second patriarch.
